Moving Sections Within a Course (alternate to drag and drop)
Posted by Eric Strom on 23 August 2013 04:33 PM

Under certain conditions, some browsers can confuse the location of sections within a moodle course after attempting drag and drop them to other locations on the page. If after trying different browsers you continue to encounter this problem, look to the following solution to relocate the sections of your course more reliably:

Instructions in Firefox:

  1. From the Firefox menu,
    • For Windows, choose "Options->Options"
    • For Mac, choose "Preferences"
  2. Select the "Content" tab and uncheck the box "Enable JavaScript"

  3. Click "Ok" (Windows only)

  4. Reload the course page in your browser. (You will see the four-headed arrow icon in the upper-right of each section change to a set of up/down arrows.)

    Click an arrow icon once to move a section one position in the section order.
    Once you are finished rearranging your sections in the course, you can check the "Enable JavaScript" to activate it again.
