Creating an ArcGIS Online Account (Faculty/Staff/Students)
Posted by Christy Mattingly on 14 March 2018 12:03 PM

What is ArcGIS Online? GIS stands for Graphic Information System. The Online version of ArcGIS allows one to use, create, and share maps, layers, analytics, and data. Arc mapping software is created by ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute).

Basically, ArcGIS Online allows you to collaboratively (or independently) create and publish interactive maps.

You get access to Living Atlas of the World, a collection of the world's geographic data. You will also be able to create apps--such as Story Maps without needing to learn to code.

Click on the ArcGIS link in Moodle or visit https://augsburgu.maps.arcgis.com and sign in with your Augsburg login information.
