International Calling - When it does or doesn't work

When International Calling Doesn't Work

1. Many countries are on the blocked list for international phone calls. Meaning, even if a phone has international calling turned on, they will not be able to call these places. See this link here from our phone company-they update this as countries are taken off and added on to the list https://support.allstream.com/knowledge-base/international-calling-options/

2. Sometimes when you try to call countries that can be called, there is a 30 second to 1 minute delay where the line is just blank before the phone starts ringing. This is normal, but it makes it seem like the call is not going to go through.

If you cannot use google hangouts or skype to call countries that are on the blocked list, then a pre-paid phone calling card will need to be purchased-these can be purchased at grocery stores, online, etc.

  5. Type in the phone extension into the Value field.
  6. Something appears, click on the TN number.
  7. Look at the knowledgebase article “Changing long distance calling options on phones (staff)”
  8. Standard for NCOS in the list in Sig Server is 3. 7 is international calling.
  9. Hit Save once the changes are made. Should be active within 15 minutes.
