Disabling Gatekeeper
Posted by Ian Robinson on 17 September 2014 04:47 PM

In some instances (for example, installing programs from non-Apple sources like Kbox) you may need to disable Gatekeeper in OSX. To do this follow the steps listed below:

1. Open System Preferences (this can be found in the Apple menu)

2. Click on Security and Privacy

3. You may need to click the lock and enter your password in the bottom corner in order to make changes.

4. Select the option that says "Anywhere."

5. When prompted, click Allow From Anywhere.

You can now install any compatible software, regardless of its origin.

For security, you should repeat these steps when you are finished (selecting "Mac App Store and identified developers") to re-enable Gatekeeper.
