Zoom's Waiting Room feature can be turned on when the identity of those invited to meet via video conferencing needs to remain confidential while keeping the ease of using the same Zoom personal meeting URL. The host will use the "Participants pane" to select a person in the waiting room to join the Zoom session. Those in the waiting room only see a message on the screen about being in the waiting room and cannot see or interact with others who are also in the waiting room. The only way confidentiality might be breached is if one person is not disconnected from the meeting before another one is allowed in. This feature is more simplified than scheduling meetings in Zoom, and it allows for spontaneity. Note: Turning on the Waiting Room feature disabled the ability of participants to join a meeting before the host arrives. Scheduling meetings may be preferable to ensure confidentiality and to allow others to join a session before the host arrives.
