Luther Seminary - How to Change Projector Settings for Dell 2 in 1 Laptops in 210E
Posted by Nicholas Schoob on 22 February 2019 04:20 PM

When connected to the Dell Latitude 2-in-1 laptops, sometimes the projector in 210E will begin to project and then flicker the computer display on and off.

Fix 1: If you are connected to the HDMI cord make sure that it is firmly plugged into the port in the third hole from the left on the tables.

Fix 2: If the Flickering continues, or if you notice that when the display flickers off it reads "HDMI out of range" on the top right corner of the screen then it is because the graphics output of the computer is not set to the same as the graphics range for the projector.  To fix this:

Step 1: Right click on the desktop screen and select "Intel Graphics settings"

Step 2: Select "Display"

Step 3: Under "Resolution"  make sure it reads 1280x720.  If it doesn't, then click on the drop-down arrow and change it.

Step 4: Under "Refresh Rate" make sure it reads 60Hz, if it doesn't then click the drop-down menu and change it to 60Hz

Step 5: Make sure that you click "Apply" in the bottom right hand corner

Step 6: click the drop-down menu for "Displays" and select the projector Display. Then repeat steps 3,4, and 5.

This should set the computer to default to these settings while in display mode.  However, if the flickering continues then disconnect the laptop from the projector (remove the HDMI or AVG cord) and repeat steps 1-5 and then plug it back in.  This will set the computer to always default to these settings.  Small adjustments to these resolution settings might need to be made up or down, but the recommendations above are a good place to start.  This should solve the problem of the flickering.
