The new academic year 2016-17 brings with it a customizable Moodle dashboard.
The Course Overview block should now be expanded by default.

  1. If the Course Overview block is collapsed, then click the plus sign in the Courses block to view your list of courses.

Click plus sign to expand course block to get to list of courses

  2. To customize the dashboard, click the "Customize this page" button.

  3. With the Course Overview block expanded and in customization mode, use the four-headed arrow move handles to rearrange the order of the list of courses. Keep the list of courses short by changing the "Number of courses to display:" drop-down from "Always show all" to the specific number of courses desired. You will also see activities that need your attention, whether students seeing due dates for assignments or discussions, or faculty seeing there are papers to grade. See green circled items below.

  4. Click the "Stop customizing this page" button to save. If you click "Reset page to default", all of the changes to the dashboard layout will be erased.
