Residential Internet Connections (Mac or Linux) for Students

Requirements:

You are responsible for installing all applicable security updates to your computer via Software Update (Mac) or another appropriate tool (Linux).

Before you connect:
Make sure you have:

  • A computer with an Ethernet card -- Check the documentation that came with your computer to find out if it is equipped with an Ethernet card.
  • An Ethernet cable or wireless connection.
  • Your AugNet username and password.

When you're ready to connect:

  1. Connect your Ethernet cable to your computer and to the network port in your room or turn on your wireless signal and connect to the AugStudent network.
  2. Open your web browser. You will automatically be directed to the SafeConnect page.
  3. Enter your AugNet username and password and click "Log In". This registers your computer on Augsburg's network.

Now, you're finished! You'll need to sign into the SafeConnect web page once a month in order to get back on the Internet. This prevents unauthorized use of the residential Internet connections.
